I was contacted by Linda J Arruda about an employment ad I posted for a telemarketer to set appointments for sales. After a short conversation we agreed she would call for us 20 hours a week and be paid at the conclusion of each week, pending receipt of hard copy documentation of her work.
Long story short - Linda Arruda set about 8 appointments over about 25 hours (a horribly poor performance level), and after the first 3 of them were no-shows, we started looking closer. None of these people who these appointments were supposedly set with knew anything about Linda Arruda and claimed to have never been contacted by anyone at all.
When I asked Linda again for documentation and/or clarification, she stalled once again - claiming she needed money for her cable bills and Christmas or she would lose her internet access and thus her ability to complete the work. Reluctantly we advanced her more money.
The very next appointment was a no-show, and when we questioned her about it she promptly "quit" the job with a series of ridiculous excuses. She refused to return the advance or deliver any documentation so we're now forced to chargeback the payments made to her.
This is a fairly typical remote-freelancer MO. They apply with impressive resumes, come out of the gate swinging... Then they get their crack money and turn into total flakes. Anyone out there considering hiring Linda J Arruda on Dracut MA, you've been warned. Feel free to contact me for more details, I'll be happy to provide them.
