Yesterday I recieved a pop up window stating that I had 38 viruses on my computer and needed to be cleared to be able to use my computer. I exited out of it thinking it was a scam and tried to log back on to click on the internet and the power point presentation that I was creating and I could not get back into them. It stated that everything was infected and could not be used unless I bought the software to removed the trojan viruses from my computer by paying it immedicately online. I thought it was provided by my Mcafee software so I thought it was legit. I paid the fee of 79.99 and then I was able to use my computer. I looked up the web address that was provided to me from my bank statement and come to find out it was a scam. I need to know how I can get my money back and how to avoid such a scam from re-occuring on my computer.
