The trial software has all features enabled. When you buy the standard software some of these features - the most useful ones, then become disabled. This means that you then have to pay again to have the professional version. This is all stated in the small print - however, in all my time using and buying software on the internet I have never come across a system as misleading as this one.
I felt that the software was reasonable value at just under 20. However I had to pay another 20 to actually get the features I needed. This leaves you in the situation where you have to decide - do I just not bother, but then I have wasted 20 on software that does not do what I needed. Or do I upgrade to get the features I want. I upgraded to get the features - but now I feel that I have paid 40 for software that isn't worth that much when I thought that 20 was what I needed to pay.
Sorry about the ramble - but their marketing really is crafty.
There are a number of complaints which appear on their user forum - but they are fairly quick in moderating these and deleting anything particularly critical.
They COULD provide trial versions for both their standard and Pro options. They COULD make it a lot clearer. But clearly this would mean fewer mistakes like mine and less cash for them.
However, wouldn't the increased customer loyalty and positive reviews be worth it. Look after your customers and the business will look after itself.
