Media Baby Defrauds its Customers
I almost never file a complaint about a business... Which should clue you in to how 'special' Media Baby is to have earned this honor.
To be fair, I should have seen it coming - they only accept checks (to prevent CC chargebacks I'm sure) and their references were lukewarm at best. But I wanted so badly to believe all the BS that they said they would and could do. They do two things well. 1) They design a decent looking graphic for your web blast and 2) They do a really good job selling you on their ability to reach the right audience cheaply (hint: don't believe them, they are full of *).
I wasted $3,000 of my company's marketing budget on these fraudsters and frankly I'm embarrassed. I'm ashamed that in my position, I made such a poor decision - I blame myself for not seeing past all of their nonsense.
Our blast was supposed to go to a highly targeted business audience. I paid extra to ensure that I'd have access to these critical contacts' emails. What I didn't know was
1) they weren't allowed to provide these names and emails to me (if I had the time and energy I'd file a formal complaint with the FCC). And
2) this supposed highly targeted list was made up of ridiculous names (not even sure if they were emails associated with real people) but they seemed like very low quality, very broad-based consumer (not targeted) business list.
So what did I get for my $3000 investment? I had zero sales, zero serious product inquiries and a damaged reputation from making such a poor judgment.
Save yourself the money and embarrassment and learn from my mistake.
