Kenny Gee of Brunswick, Ohio repairs laptops out of his home. He is a friend of my sister's and her husband. I repair computers also but I can not replace hardware in laptops. I specialize in the operating systems.
I had a computer that needed the power plug soldered to the motherboard as it was loose and would not charge correctly. Kenny Gee said he could do that. But after looking at the laptop, he told me I would need a whole new motherboard. I decided it was not worth a new motherboard and I requested that he put it back together and I would pay him for his time. He asked me if I wanted to sell the computer to him. I said no as I had added a lot of memory and also the hard drive was good so I wanted to retrieve these things. He said he would drop it off at my sister's for me to pick up then.
Many months went by and when I pressed for the laptop, Kenny Gee said he'd dropped it off at my sister's & had put it in the garage. He blamed my sister for losing it. The bottom line is I believe my sister when she says he did NOT drop it off as they looked everywhere. Why would a person drop off a computer and not mention that he sat it in the garage? He is a liar.
I called him and he swore in the background when his wife answered and said, "If she's calling about the GD (he said the word) laptop, I don't have it". He did come to the phone and told me my sister had it. I reminded him that he wanted to buy it and when I said that, he hung up on me.
Can you imagine doing business this way??? I was stupid to trust this man with my equipment but being that he was a friend of my sister's and being that he fixed laptops out of his home, I trusted him. I thought he was honest like me. My mistake. I also fix computers out of my home (not laptops though) and I would never lie or cheat one of my customers. My reputation for fixing computers and treating my customers fairly is spotless. Not only did I lose a computer but the case it was in I paid $50 for and I lost that too.
