ITP shows up in reviews of VOIP companies as "rated well". Not for long in my opinion!
This company touts $19.95 unlimited domestic usage and several other features common for VoIP companies.
Much to my surprise, after 4 months of usage they "flagged" my account as being a possible "business line" and started charging me a per minute fee of $0.025 per minute.
I never received a phone call, email, or letter indicating that they were changing the terms and conditions of my service.
According to the customer care rep, they saw "consistent calling patterns" that were being interpreted by their "computer system" as BUSINESS calling patterns, and therefore, they began charging me a per minute fee.
I explained that I have this line for personal use, and have a Business line of my own in Boston.
They said they would consider my plea and get back to me.in the meantime, American Express just received my 2 months of disputes and suggested they will credit me back.
Hey out there... Are we looking at a possible opportunity for a class action lawsuit?
How many other customers are just assuming they are being billed as unlimited and they arent?
Buyer beware! I'll be porting my number away as soon as I can make arrangements.
Itp, shame on you. Deceptive, and unethical behavior in my opinion.
