Hughs Net is not a service that is of "service" to anyone, but is truly more of a scam. The primary issue seen is, first, on the pocket book. The "service" provided is expensive to begin with for very slow poor return. Dial up, which is provided for anyone, is extremely inexpensive and much more worth its service. Hughs Net even goes so far as to break American law to obtaine the companies goals. From the commercials that I continue to see, they are getting away with it. Amazing. The full bit of information that a consumer is supposed to be provided with upon a sale is not given to the consumers of Hughes Net EVER. They must have a lot to hide for such a well known public entity. THEY EVEN CHARGE TO RECIEVE HARD COPY STATEMENTS! What is that all about? Afraid to have consumers keep hard copies of being ripped off? Well maybe a lot of people should put these to good use. Wasn't told about the "fair access policy" which is the AMOUNT of info one can download in a 24 hr period (which is next to nothing. 200mb base / 420 mb if upgraded. UGH!!!) Even the nationally televised commercial misinforms the consumer of the speed! Dial-up download is nearly the same as Hughs Net. Hughs net may even be slower! These commercials are ALLOWED! Talk about false advertisement! Are the laws actually in place for a purpose? Or should consumers continue to be missinformed?
