As I normally do all my holiday shopping online, it's somewhat expected that occasionally I would hit a scam. This year my shopping was done entirely through reputable websites like Amazon and Sephora. About 2 weeks before Xmas, BofA notified me that there were questionable charges on my bank account. One being from BlogToolKit for $1.95, another from something called GrantSuccess which charged me $2.95 (which I also received mail from), and something else titled ElevatersLtd which charged my account $150.
I disputed all 3 charges with my bank, and all were reversed, card #'s changed, etc. I then received the BlogToolKit discs in the mail addressed to me. I can only assume that somehow they phished my card info and address through another seller or ran some sort of scam where there's a box checked with fine print upon checkout where it enrolls you. When I called blogtoolkit, they claimed I must've started an account with them through their www.blogtoolkit.com website, which was inaccurate as I had never heard or seen their website, nonetheless even knew what bs they peddled. Thankfully with my bank's dispute they 'canceled' my account before that $34.95 membership fee I've read about appeared on my statement.
Awful.
