I received an e-mail offering me a weightloss pill (Zylacor) for only $19.90 for a 37 day trial period and that if I wasn't satisfied, I could return the unused portion within the trial period. If I did not, they would debit my credit card for an additional $199.95.
I tried the pills and they gave me severe diarrhea and severe stomach pains. So, within the trial period, I called the company to complain about the results, to inform them that I was sending back the unused portion and to verify to address to send the package to.
I then sent the pills back (still within the trial period) USPS Next Day guaranteed delivery. (I have the tracking number.) However, it seems that they did not log the return into their system for over 3 days. I found this out when I called the company a 4 days later to verify that everything was fine. They stated that they did receive the package however it was not received (regardless of what the tracking says) during the trial period and they will be debiting my card regardless.
They said they will send the pills back to me. I explained that the pills made me extremely ill and that I did not want them. They said that in that case they will keep the unused (unopened) pills but yet will still debit my card. She said that they could not bend the company rules for anyone. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was very rudely told that the supervisors were all gone or were busy leaving because I had the audacity to call right before closing and they all wanted to go home. I left my name and phone number for a supervisor to call me but as of yet, no call!
I have since closed out my credit card, started a fraud investigation with my credit card company, filed a complaint with the BBB, the Texas Attorney General and the FTC.
