I recently applied to a job on Craigslist for either an Admin or Accounting job and got a response back saying my resume was under review. The subject line said 'e-mail questionnaire'. It was offering me a work-from-home job opportunity for a Zenith Technologies. There were questions attached that they wanted me to answer such as:
1. Why do you want this job?
2. Have you worked as a data entry clerk accountant before?
3. Privacy and Code of Conduct... Explain the phrase
4. Explain what petty cash means
5. Have you ever worked from home?
6. How would you describe your self?
7. What is your typing speed?
8. Do you have an idea of how to use Microsoft Excel?
9. Do you have office equipments at home?
10. Are you currently employed? If yes, is it a full time job or a part time job?
11. What is the toughest decision you have ever made?
12. How many hours are you willing to work per day?
14. What are your personal goals?
15 Can you work under pressure?
16. What value can you add to this company?
Everything at the time seemed ok, so I answered all of the questions and sent it back to him. Meanwhile, I got on the internet and tried to research the company. I did find a Zenith Technologies, but none based in Florida. There was a couple of US locations, but were also in other countries too. This seemed fishy, so I e-mailed the job line at this Zenith Technologies company that I found asking them to verify this job offer and got no response!
The next day I get another e-mail from this James Davenport again saying that my application is successful. Now the subject line is changed to Payroll Routine and Test of Duty. They say that the first week I would be in training then would be a full setup after that. Per the e-mail here is what they say,
Basically before you get started, the company would be providing you with funds to purchase some important software required for the duty in question and then you will be receiving equipments from the Company. Dell Laptop Pentium D Duo Processor, All in one Printer, Scanner and Fax Machine with a wide range of software already installed on the system..
Here is a couple of other paragraphs from the response I got from him:
The Company is running the Online Recruiting as a temporary measure towards the completion of our Centres around the United States and Canada. So most of our online staffs would have the first hand opportunity to apply to become permanent staffs when these centres are opened. We are certified and also registered with the Greater Britain Business Association. So i can assure you that you have been offered a great opportunity to perform giving your best to performing Data Entry duties in exchange for a good pay.
The company's website for the Home Business Unit is under a URL change and it involves a very high re-organizational process that involves bringing all our online staffs to log-on on the same Network Online with their staff ID. As soon as the website is launched within the next 10 business days then each online staffs can have a log on ID/Password to get access to their duties online while still communicating with their supervisors.
I am soooo glad that I started getting nervous about being scammed because I decided to research further and I came across this complaint website where I found very similar situations, offers, etc. From other people representing different business names! I will not be completing any further information to them now! Thank you complaint for saving me!!!
