I thought it was too good to be true but like all suckers, I couldn't resist a deal. So I paid my money for tobacco and promptly received a payment email and shortly afterwards not one but 2 shipping emails. Dates of shipment but no details but at that stage I wasn't overly concerned.
According to the site I should inquire if my order took over 21 days to arrive. It did so I emailed, not once but three times and have still to get a response other than the computer generated "your email has been received and will, blah, blah".
I never did receive a reply about my particular order so today I called their number. This rang once with a US dial tone and then into a foreigh dial tone. Eventually this was auto answered by incomprehensible gibberish which I assume was Israeli. I thought it was a waste of my time and money to leave a message when I couldn't interpret even if I could leave one so hung up.
I then researched Duty Free Depot and found a huge trail of complaints, main ones being non-receipt of goods and non answer of emails.
The company is based in Israel and there are way too many complaints of non receipt of goods for this to be anything other than a scam, despite the pleadings of the Duty Free Depot rep who seems to spend most of his time on all the complaint sites posting rebuttals.
I'n now at the 30 day point of non receipt of goods and am not going to waste much more time on redress other than to continue to post warnings about this company. Buyer Beware!
