I own I certify that all events I'm addressing are true and correct, beyond any reasonable doubt. I'm a 16 year veteran Police Officer in the State of Pennsylvania.
I myself got lured in to the Bidware situation. I now have my site on a PHPPROBID platform, which is newer, updated and runs as it should.
1. Downloaded the free version and hosted this site and another site on the POWHOST platform.
2. Both sites ran like junk, account suspensions were embarrassing, but Chris fixed the problem, both sites ran ok.
3. But, the auction site seemed to have a problem with accounts disabling themselves without reason. This was a concern that I addressed with Chris.
4.in the beginning, Chris told me he'd do "whatever needed done". Of course he did. I purchased a theme package from him, several hundred dollars. It took "months" to complete. I had my other site, set up by another company, up and running in days. I have to say, there was one problem that Chris actually fixed for me, I was appreciative.
5. The trade site looked nice upon completion, once he got the ball rolling, I was satisfied with the results, I'm not going to lie. You can check the waybackmachine and you'll see the results of the first launch.
6. The auction script is very primative. I have to add that I spend a couple hundred dollars trying to figure out what the problem was, only to learn that there was "no problem". Chris didn't know the basic structure of the system and how it operated. It shut down the stores that weren't used, to display the stores that WERE used. My bad I guess. The problem is, the script is a dinosaur. Yes, it was free, yes I got what I paid for, but dumping mass amounts of money into the script that was dumpy was my bad, once again.
7. Chris and I also got into a hate mail session. He and I both screamed and yelled, tossed out insults, none of it got us anywhere. I'm forever disgusted and yes, after a couple years of cooling off, I'm not finished with Bidware. It wasn't good customer service and as a businessman you NEVER... EVER mistreat someone who handed you money. Never bit the hand that feeds you, it's immature and unbusinesslike. I don't think I've ever been so frustrated in my life.
8. Yes, we spent a lot of money on something that went no where. I'll make this statement and leave it at that. "What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger". Bidware has NO portfolio of successful sites. If you look at his forums, he's HORRIBLE with catering to his would be, or even has been customers.in the beginning, the classified ads and the PHPBB forum was so outdated it was embarrassing. Move on, file your report and make your next site better. My new site is slow to take off, people even copied my idea. I guess that my Bidware experience took it's toll.
I'm a Police Officer and Emergency Medical Technician. If I were you, I'd stay away from Bidware or anything to do with PowHost.
Instead of walking away with a smile on my face, I'm here, years later. What goes around comes around.
In the beginning he's a nice guy, seems suitable to your needs. He's trying to compete with PHPPROBID and it isn't happening. NO WAY!
Chris, good luck to you man, hurting people seems to come easy to you. You'll have to answer for your practices some day.
I see that he removed his alleged physical address from his site. Another typical practice of a person that's not accountable for his actions after accusation. Sometimes people get so greedy that they light their wings on fire and burn to the ground. I know for a fact this is happening here.
I can tell you, C.A. And New Jersey aren't this guys only affiliations. I remember his site saying Barnaby Canada. If anyone gets ripped off by this weasel, document everything, emails you send and emails you receive. That was my mistake, I trusted him. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT INTEREST? I might be willing to talk to you if you're claim is legit. We can go after everyone.
