Finale is very hard to learn, tedious, unstable, and has poor documentation. For example, making basic repeats and second-endings is nearly impossible; the more intricate ones are a nightmare. (Having used both Sibelius and Encore music notation software for extensive sheet music creation, I would recommend either - hands-down - over Finale.)
I paid over two-hundred dollars for Finale, touted as the "music notation industry standard." Just today one of its recurrent instability issues occurred: I moved a note down in one measure and two other measures became corrupt, which took several minutes to correct. The company now denies support to me though I have registered a support account using my serial # (WFNA-215399), an account that their web site recognizes as existent.
