Aeria Games And Entertainment
Banned from service with no notice or proof

The story goes like this. I enjoy online games and found one sponsored by Aeria Games. I downloaded it and began playing and highly enjoyed it. I introduced the game to my son, and he started playing also. All went well for several months until players learned they could "hack" the game giving themselves unfair advantages. I for the most part ignored the hackers until players started video capturing other players suspected of hacking. This is what happened to my son. He was videoed and it appeared that he may have been hacking.in my opinion videos should not be used solely for a ban from service. This video was used solely to ban my son from the services. He pleaded with the staff for months to no avail. He was banned but all my characters were left intact.

After realizing he had lost the character for good he made new ones, and being the teenager that he is decided to do what he had been accused of doing months before. This is where my situation with Aeria begins. On July 5 Aeria staff claims to have banned 300 accounts found to be hacking. My son and I were included in this ban because we share an IP adress. Now I do not feel sorry for my son getting banned, he knew he could and probably would get caught. My problem with the Aeria staff is that my characters were not hacking at anytime... Period.

This game I play is so called free to play. You in fact can play for free but they offer ingame currency (Aeria Points) to use to better your character. I being a grown man with a few bucks to spare, bought several Aeria Points to better my character then realized it was an endless money sink and stopped buying them. Some people are favored by the Aeria staff that have been shown to be hacking the game multiple times but are not denied service because of the money they spend on these points. Some in the thousands, so I see why Aeria keeps them around.

My gripe with the Aeria staff is that I have not been shown any proof that any of my characters have done anything wrong. Just because I share an IP adress with my son, which was hacking the game, does not in any way mean that I have been hacking. I try to voice my opinion on there forums and get silenced immediately or the posts deleted. I pride myself as NOT being a cheater, scammer or hacker and I feel my reputation has been tarnished.

The rip-off here is that you spend time, sometimes hours on end playing to be able to level and compete. Then spend real money to fund this hobby. My time and my money have now been taken away from me wrongly. IP adresses should not be used to ban someone from this service, character's actions in game should. They will not show me any proof that my characters have done anything wrong. Yes my son did, but I did not.

In closing I would suggest finding another gaming company with a more experienced staff to fulfill your freetime hobby.
