Total ripoff! - Company Took My Money and Never Delivered Anything

There are some internet companies that are slow to deliver items. There are others that have poor customer service. Don't be fooled into thinking this is one of those type of companies - it's not. This "company" is just a scam, pure and simple! Never attempt to do business with this company!!!

In December I placed an order on the Mookie Gifts web site for a pair of monkey sock slippers. They cost $33.94, including shipping. The slippers, which were intended as a Christmas present, didn't show in December. They didn't show up in January. I attempted to get in touch with the company numerous times via email and telephone. No luck. It was like the company dropped off the face of the earth.

Finally, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a formal complaint. Not only did Mookie Gifts a.K.A. D&S Giftware respond to the complaint, they fabricated some story about how they attempted to work things out and the BBB indicated that the complaint had been resolved.

Now it gets better. Around 8 months after I placed my order and long since assumed the money was lost, I received a letter from the office of the Attorney General of Missouri asking me if I ever received my slippers!!! Apparently, good old Mookie Gifts a.K.A. D&S Giftware got into some hot water and had to share their records with the government. I responded that I had not received anything and that Mookie Gifts never responded to my complaints or refunded my money.

Now it gets even better!!! Apparently, the total morons at Mookie Gifts then told the Attorney General's office that they had made good on my order and that they sent me my slippers, finally after a year. They even fabricated a UPS tracking number and provided it to me to track my order. The number was bogus and nothing was ever shipped. The Attorney General was on to them though, and I told the AG's office that nothing was ever shipped under that UPS tracking number.

In February I received a check in the mail from the Attorney General Trustee's Merchandising Practices Restitution Fund for - you guessed it - $33.94. I can only imagine the expenditure of taxpayer dollars that was required to pry my $33.94 from the sticky fingers of those crooks at Mookie Gifts a.K.A. D&S Giftware.

Although they never answered their phone, I got a pretty clear picture of the type of people that run Mookie Gifts a.K.A. D&S Giftware. They are not only crafty criminals, they seem to enjoy lying to their unknowing customers and government regulators. I can only imagine how much money they have made on people that didn't pursue the issue for over a year. They probably think the whole thing was a big joke and they will probably do it again, maybe under a new company name. Note my warning - if Mookie Gifts or D&S Giftware respond to this story in a contradictory tone, don't believe it. They are liars. I have a hand-signed letter from the Missouri Attorney General's Office to back up this story. Another recommendation - note the address and telephone number for this company. I think it's a home address, based on an online aerial photo. If you see any other company with this address or phone number, be very suspicious.

Oh, and if anyone from Mookie Gifts a.K.A. D&S Giftware is reading this story - who's got the last laugh now you jerks!!!
