I received a bill for $132.33 from Alyon Technologies.
They gave me a so called "account" number claiming I used their sevices. It took me a while to figure out that it was for some kind of 'adult' viewing or phone sex or the like.
Asking some far more computer savy friends, I learned it is technically possible to gain remote access to a computer and also learned that I could have been tricked into downloading something inadvertantly. Sometime these things hide behind pop ups.
I also learned that since I have a cable modem there is no way of a dial up and when I checked my phone bill there is no charge for a long distance call.
I sent two emails to their customer-support address, in protest but no response. Also, their phone number was unanswerable.
This company has caused me considerable distress. Since I suffor from serious high blood pressure, I am even more distressed in disputing their phony claim.
I have already received a second notification from them tho they falsly claim they have made numerous attempts to contact me.
This second notification contains a serious threat.
Of course I refuse to pay any such (censored) bill.
