A BidFuel box popped up after I refused a different offer. It's always hard to tell exactly what they are offering, but it sounded like a possibility. I was looking for a company that had merchandise for my online business I already have. It said pay only $1.97 for the CD. So I thought fine, I can see what it is all about. Whoops. Soon as I finished filling all my info and hit submit, in very teeny tiny lettering at the very bottom, it said it would bill $39.95 per month.
I knew I didn't want that, so I immediately tried to cancel the order. It had one of those boxes with a virtual person in there. That was exactly like talking to a wall.
When the CD came in the mail I immediately copied the front of the package (that is where I got the address) and refused it and returned to sender. I wanted to call them right then but I didn't have a number for them.
When I was billed the $1.97 plus $39.95 I called the 800 number that was on the bill. I could never get any answer no matter what time of day I called and no matter how long I waited, was always on hold.in the meantime I continued to get billed every month. I finally wrote a letter to them in October of Still being billed November and December (since August).
Finally, in January I got a credit of $39.95. Just one. They owed me for five.
This isn't the only company that has pulled this stuff. This has got to be stopped! I, for one, am not ordering ANYTHING from the computer again. They are just hurting legitimate businesses.
