As I am typing this, all the visitors to my domain name are going to Godaddy instead of my website, and Godaddy is making money off of my advertising.
My domain name is advertised throughout the web and receives about 600 people each day on average. This equals about $20.00 in ad revenue each day. 3 days ago, I forwarded my domain to my new website, but the forwarding has not been initiated yet, it's still pending after 3 days. So while it's been pending, Godaddy directed my name to one of their "parked pages", so all my visitors are going to Godaddy's page now and clicking on Godaddy's ads and making Godaddy money. I sent Godaddy an email about 24 hours ago to let them know it has not forwarded correctly to my website, and I have not received a reply back and they have not fixed the "problem".
So Godaddy has made about $60 so far from my name this weekend. Possibly more, but that's about how much I make from my ads, so I know Godaddy is probably making more because their page is nothing but ads so people are more likely to click on the ads. Imagine if they do this to everybody when they forward a name, 3 days is ridiculous and obviously a scam, but even if they only did this for a few hours to thousands of people, the earnings they would make by stealing those people's website traffic temporarily is unimaginable.
