I ordered a DVD from Tower.com under the wrong assumption that they were affiliated with Tower Records, a retail music store I used to visit. I had to call them more than once just to get the order confirmed, and to satisfy their credit card "3D secure" requirement.
They billed my credit card, but after some research I found out that the DVD hadn't even been released yet. I called to cancel my order, and they told me that they would refund the amount on my credit card.
Its been over a month, and my credit card company has no record of the amount being refunded. They have actually opened an investigation of their own. Talking to Tower.com customer service they have come up with one stalling excuse after another, even telling me that the amount was refunded (but providing no transaction number), refering the matter to their Billing Dept etc, but not conforming to their 4-7 day timeline that they promised!
Getting a refund for purchasing a product that Tower.com didn't even have in the first place should not take this amount of effort and time. I will never do business with this online scam website again, and am glad I cut my loss to the cost of a DVD. Researching Tower.com I am finding out that others have had similar experiences, and would encourage people not to do business with this web site!
