I have noticed that despite much criticism, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has decided to go forth with the plan to charge a service fee for domain registration. I guess it seems that they are not making enough money charging registrars exhorbant fees.
The problem is that unlike other industries where consumers have a choice on where to purchase their products/services from, there is no option here. Well, unless you simply do not register a domain name. When you are in a position such as ICANN, you can do what you want no matter how many people protest it.
