I had a twenty minute argument with this very scandalous company after a phone call from a man from the company accused us of not paying invoices sent to our company via a fax number that I have never seen before.
The company looks for companies that are recently added to yellowpages.com and when you get registered, they will mock the category and contact someone from your office hoping to manipulate someone in to believing that they are a yellow pages representative.
After establishing a sales rep contact, a woman will contact your administrative assistant and claim that everything is to be verified with her/him and then record a "quality assurance" call with an okay to start the service. The company will wait several months, claim to add you to a database that is on a cd and start time to bill you for advertising costs that do not exist. The cd is not used by anyone or anything, it seems from their printout of the listing it is just copied from yellow pages.
Two to three months after the fact, they will contact your office and then request payment and when you let them know that you have never heard of their true name, infocom USA, then they are ready to send you an email with the recording of the employee and a copy of their yellow page cutout, hoping to get the administrative person to go ahead and send out a check for several hundred dollars.
It just so happened that I had forwarded the office calls to my personal cell phone a few days before the call through Vonage. When I received the call as an owner of the company, I could tell through their persistence and lack of professionalism that it must be another scandal. Sure enough, I get to google and the complaints are all over the internet. Watch out for these guys. I will be reporting them to any authorities I can, as they may seem to have an office, they are truly no better than a nigerian scam artist on craigslist.
