'Public Yellow Pages' (not affiliated with Yellowpages), is trying to convince us we signed up for a premium Business package with them, and is telling us we owe 599.99 even to cancel this next years subscription.
We have been fighting this company for almost a year now. I just hang up when i see they're calling since they try and get me the run around, pull people's names from the company, and don't tell you that you're being recorded. Since i don't want them to try and "doctor" up a recording, I always hang straight up on them. They've tried faxing and even mailing us as a company.
This is how i know this is fake:
1. They have the contact person's name completely butchered and has no authority to make such a sale on behalf of the company
2. No one ever uses yellow pages, and 'public yellow pages' is a scam company just riding a legit's company's coat-tails.
3. They're trying to charge our business for something we do as a business. We are an internet marketing company, and they're trying to tell us, we signed up for internet site and marketing.
4. Called the Chrysler building, and they have no record of "Public Yellow Pages" registered in the building. The lobby isn't even familiar with the name.
Keep yourself safe, and if they say you owe money with them, just hang up. Don't let them record your voice and stitch together some playback to convince you.
