It seems to be a familiar pattern of deception

In reading other reports about this company, it seems as if they are following the same pattern of deception if not outright fraud when one contracts with them to produce a website. We are a graphics company as well as a publishing firm and are well-versed in print production, schedules and what it takes to produce graphics projects including websites. We have a successful website and wanted an update with a new cart and had a design spec'd, so it was a relatively easy update. We started the project on Sept. 1 and in their initial proposal to us it clearly states that turnaround time on all sites is approximately 2-3 weeks from the time we receive your completed information through your online design packet.

It's now 81 days from that time and they have only partially completed 34 pages out of approximately 65 pages needing updating (new headers and footers, cart interface and some design rework based on a standard cart that had restrictions that we needed to follow. This was not pointed out in our initial quote which also clearly stated it was for a custom redesign since we were happy with our existing design and only wanted minor updates. They told us they would have to redesign our entire site based on new coding they had to do, but once started we had to change aspects of our existing site to fit their standard template... Oops.

They also billed us for both a downpayment and the final payment that wasn't supposed to be billed until the site was finished plus a month's hosting fee unauthorized since we do not host with them plus informing us that they needed an extra $550 for 3 pages that weren't included in the initial quote even though it was clearly pointed out that these pages were part of the update. Shortly after the project began, they needed to assign a different designer, the account person assigned to us stopped replying to messages or returning calls as to why pages were not being worked on, the store team stopped after placing 20 of 28 total products since that's all the standard contract called for even though it was a custom redesign of an existing site which has all the products clearly in place. This caused a 10 day delay when no work was being done. They missed our window of 9/1-9/15 to finish the site since our busiest season runs from mid-Sept. Through January (calendar season).

We also ran up to a 60-day deadline from Visa to dispute charges, so we are now at the point when all charges are in dispute and we have stopped working with them. We are proceeding at this point in writing a full report to Visa, to the state attorney general of Utah, to a TV station in Provo that may be interested in an investigative report into Heritage and have contacted a client attorney specializing in class-action suits as I strongly feel that this company should be shut down before other business owners go through the same process.

If I would have know of this site prior to awarding them the contract, we would never have proceeded with them, but it took a call from a competitor that had originally bid on our redo and was inquiring as to our progress. When I mentioned that I was unhappy with our progress and told him it was Heritage that was doing the site, he referred me to this site. This is a terrible company to do business with and all I can say is avoid them like the plague.
