Beware of the ebay Seller's Lounge: 10-15-08
My name is Scott and on April 30th I ordered a "free" introductory training video from the Seller's Lounge and paid a shipping charge of $3.87 using a credit card. On May 11 the Seller's Lounge began unauthorized charges of $49.95 against my credit card account.
I did not order any service from the Seller's Lounge nor did I authorize them to make any charges against my account. I simply paid the shipping on a free introductory video and chose not to subscribe. The Seller's Lounge took it upon themselves to rack up unsubstantiated and illegal charges against my account citing that I did not "check" an automated computer "cancel" box that I question the existence of.
I made the mistake of not catching the first charge of $49.95 against my account and I've since tried to recover that, meanwhile I've been fighting with the credit card company for expungement of all the charges and that battle continues to this day. Beware: The burden of proof lies on the consumer and the Seller's Lounge website changes with regularity making it virtually impossible to prove that you didn't subscribe to their service.
