Job Search Fraud. OnLine School Solicitor. Scam. Prey on Jobless

My experience with VeriResume.com is a repeat of what the others have been saying on this site. I fell for their 'tricks' and now I would like to warn anyone else who may be considering responding to this company.

In my personal opinion, this company is preying on the individuals who are desperate to find employment. That in itself is a scam! I have been searching for employment for 9 months and have been contacted by every company looking to swindle someone during that time.

My resume was posted on Yahoo and Monster so I am not certain which one they have pulled my information from. However, when I responded to one of their postings, I too, found red flags shooting up when I was asked about my cell phone carrier. However, out of sheer desperation, I completed the information and made the MAJOR mistake of stating that I am considering returning to school in the future. (I am, but I foolishly answered the question anyway.)

Now, my email and snail mail is OVERFLOWING with offers from every online school you can find! There have been times that I have received 15 or 20 emails in the same day! These people are relentless!

Yesterday I was contacted by VeriResume to 'verify' the information. Unlike the others, I was not asked about the cell phone carrier this time, but I was questioned about returning to school. Rather than take my chances of 'losing' a potential job opportunity, I simply answered that I have already selected a school and beginning date.

After that, she seemed eager to end the phone call and told me I would receive an email asking to verify my information again. The major mistake of that call - I actually gave her my HOME phone number as an additional phone number to contact me.

Guess What? Between last evening and now I have received THREE phone calls inquiring about my returning to school. ALL of them are online programs.

Don't second guess your gut feeling about these people. I went against my better judgement because I am desperate to find a job - and now I have a full time job deleting their emails, recycling their snail mail and telling everyone to STOP calling me!
