I paid to download software the link did not work

I paid to download some computer software for my car. It did not work. They have charged me for something that did not work. I have tried to cancel my account but none of the links work, so i have had to cancel my credit card. If i did not do this they wher going to carry on taking money of my card every month unless i cancelled my account. I have tried contacting the billing firm which is prolast but no joy there. It seems this company prolast is well known. According to what i have read on the internet the trouble is you cant check up on them untill its to late
