Walkfit.com is an incredibly fraudulent company that charges customers for items that were not ordered or received

Walkfit is an incredibly fraudulent company that charges customers for things that were never ordered or received. Walkfit also charges customers more than the contract price agreed upon at the time of sale.

I saw an advertisement for the Walkfit orthotics on TV one morning - it was being endorsed by a major morning news/entertainment broadcast, so it was not your typical infomercial. I decided to try them, so I ordered one pair for $19.95 9.95 shipping.

Two weeks later - and before the Walkfit orthotics were delivered I saw a charge on my credit card from Walkfit for $54.75. I emailed customer service. No response. I called customer service. I was informed that I ordered a gel cushion for an additional $9.95 and purchased Rush shipping for another additional $9.95. Because I hadn't received the items, all I could do was argue that I didn't order these extra things. After a long argument, the Walkfit customer service representative offered to refund me the $9.95 rush shipping charge. RUSH SHIPPING? I ordered these things on 4 July and didn't receive them until 22 July.

Then I received the package, which contained exactly what the web site lists as included in the bonus kit for $19.95: the orthotics, 3 customizable arch inserts, sandal adaptor, peppermint lotion, and how to guide. NO gel cushion. So I call customer service again. The Walkfit customer service representative asked me several times if I was sure there wasn't a gel cushion in the bag. I said no, just the included arch inserts. After being put on hold a few times, the representative then tells me that because the item is listed on the invoice as having been shipped I would have to fill out a postal insurance form. What???

I asked whether this would truly solve the situation, since the postal service isn't going to honor an insurance claim for a package that was delivered. I explicitly explained that the problem is that the package was packaged incorrectly by Walkfit. Then the representative explained again that I would need to fill out a postal claim form and send it back to customer service. When I finally told her that I just wanted to return the orthotics for a refund and be done with Walkfit (less shipping and handling, of course), she offered me an $8.00 discount. I accepted the pathetic offer, as I was quite tired of talking to Walkfit customer service. It was unfortunately the cheaper and easier way out, as I would have had to pay to send them back, and I'm sure I would have been billed some ridiculous amount for the missing gel cushion that I would not have been able to return.

And now that I've hung up with customer service and have managed to decipher the invoice, I have now also realized that I was charged $14.95 for basic shipping -in addition to the 9.95 rush shipping charge that is supposed to be refunded. The website (http://www.walkfit.com/as-seen-on-tv/) still lists shipping at $9.95! I don't think I have the strength and patience for another Walkfit customer service conversation. Walkfit is an incredibly fraudulent company. What a complete ripoff!!!

P.S. Did I mention that the email I received confirming shipment contained a tracking number but absolutely no information about what shipping service the tracking number was for? (No, the number didn't match FedEx or UPS). What a terrible company to do business with. If these orthotics made me fly I would never do business with them again.
