It is quite simple really and Visa, my local police, and the Indiana Sheriff department has been involved and activated to this illegal dispute. I don't mess around basically =).
We ordered from Central Pack during the last 1 1/2 years without incident. Until May 4 our $192 order did go through, but was never received. We wondered why it was taking over 2 weeks for suppies and we never received an email from Central Pack.
I received an email from (great company) that they were handling Central Packs orders due to financial issues (internal theft & fraud to be specific). So, we replaced our order with JIT and it took about 8 business days, but we got our order and for about $30 less than what Central Pack used to charge us. We have continued ordering monthly from JIT without incident and continue to do so.
Now, all of a sudden on July 25 a charge of $761 goes through. First off, the amount for packing is enormous and we could not possibly order tha much unless doing a 6 month pre-order. Second, they are OUT OF BUSINESS, filing bankrupcy.
So, my assumptions are that they are digging through their past customers credit card orders and charging false amounts to them to clear up merchant debt, etc in a last ditch effort to save themselves financially. I don't know, this is speculation but we have never ordered anything above $200.00 from them and it would be hard to do so.
I recomend ANYONE who has ever ordered from CentralPack.com call their credit card company and say their card is stolen. Your credit card information is NOT safe with them and I'm sure I will hear other reports on this site very soon as I believe this was not a lone incident.
Will keep you updated on what happens, our card has been reported as stolen and this will never happen again as well.
