Verticity was to provide website programming and enhancement for my web based company. They grossly lacked in providing web programming, daily reports of any work done and failed to communicate on a daily basis. The work that was done seemed to disrupt the website itself and lead to further issues. I was required to pay Veriticity for 1 month of web work in advance. I was told I would have someone working on my site for 8 hours on a daily basis. I do not feel that not only was the time fulfilled, but what was done had a lot of mistakes.
Many times no one was in touch with me and days would go by with what seemed to have no one working on the site. Even one programmer, Rizwan, said an asp programming had not been in - in a week. I saw problems on my site in the first week they took it over as mistakes were happening immediately and I requested a refund on the Friday of the first week in which I stopped into Verticity in person to address my concerns. I even called the second day into the project and told the sales person, Ray Cusumano that I had grave concerns of their programmers English and programming comprehension of my site. He and the owner later that week assured me they'd have the items fixed the next week.
I stopped in at the end of the first week as so many things were now going wrong on the live site in which they were touching the existing code and again they assured me they just needed to get familiar and would have things fixed the next week. Needless to say that didn't happen.
They did not repair many items nor address items that I had on a "to do" list from the start such as a photo issue. They did not consult a project work list I created and one internal person, Bob, said he doesn't look at those things. I continued to call the owner of the company, Tausif Paracha, and he rarely returned my emails and never returned my phone calls. He sent a final email saying my month of payment was up. Nothing hardly was accomplished for my payment to them and more problems actually arose. Their sales person Ray Cusumano kept stringing me along the next couple of weeks saying he was looking into the matter and would reiterate my emails to them of what needed to be done and what questions I had and we'd adjust a "start" date. Yet, again no response from the owner other than my time was up. They tell you enough of what you want to hear but don't accomplish much.
The final email even from Ray addressing my concerns was not addressed by the programmers. Just because time passed does not mean any work of quality was completed. Most items/tasks I gave them were left incomplete and/or needed to be done over such as the video box on the homepage. I had called and emailed them to address some kind of reimbursement.
One such example was my biz directory - a paid function on the site which had been working. Under Verticity this section had to be reset/rebooted a few times to the point that it eventually became non functioning. I continued to send them error messages and it was not fixed. They just didn't seem to know how to address the issues and actually created more by touching code that was there. The new programmer had this fixed in less than 2 days. Photos which were a first priority task in both the community profiles directory and the biz directory to fix a stretching issue. At times these databases disappeared, could not upload photos at all and continued to look strechted.
At the end of 4 weeks, no new photos could even be uploaded in either data base and profiles were worse than ever where members could not upload new information as well. Any new photos in upload for new members and/or existing members then began to not load at all now - a project under Verticity that was not completed - where before at least photos loaded but were stretched... Etc. The site was worse than it had ever been.
My new programmer again fixed in a couple of days more than Verticity did in a few weeks. Actually, more problems arose since Verticity company worked on my site. Also, under Verticity they said a hacker disrupted the site.in 5 years time of owning my site, it never had a hacker - now in 3 weeks time it did. They said they were busy securing the site yet I did not receive information when I requested to see IP addresses of a hacker.
I asked Tausif, the owner of Verticity, what he felt Verticity has accomplished, achieved, any work to any satisfaction that entitles them you a month of advance payment? I was not presented with an account of hours, task, daily reports - zilch. I wrote more emails to a company, salesperson (Ray), and web programmers (Izhar, Rizwan, Danish) in a few weeks than I have in a year - repeating the same things over and over.
This company suggested that my programming (asp) be switched to a different code (php) yet what they mostly did was copy/paste of an existing website page (asp) which is not compatible - and nothing else was accomplished. The forum they were to set up resembled nothing of a forum format and my continuous questions of what type of format they were striving for was never answered/addressed either. A forum is a basic web function yet I received no info nor was it set up in 4 weeks time. The php setup was a joke.
What did I get for my money but wasted time, money and a lot of headaches. This was the most disappointing experience with a web programming company ever.
I have repeatedly called and emailed to talk about some kind of settlement with the owner Tausif Paracha and my sales person Ray Cusumano, but I was left with a big mess to clean up.
