Gaia Online can, and will ban you with little or no explanation, regardless of loyalty or contributions. Milpitas

Gaia Online is a website where one can create an avatar and earn personal wealth called "gold" by roaming the site and posting.

I was a loyal customer (considering Gaia now accepts cash to purchase digital currency called "Gaia Cash") for four years. I have spent a good portion of these four years working on the website to earn my wealth so I may clothe my digital being however I see fit, regardless of how hard it may be to obtain such.

I spent this time, to earn the gold needed to gain items on the site. When I joined, they started a program called "Donation Items" where one could contribute to the site via Pay-pal to recieve items. They changed this since then to "Monthly Collectibles" but the idea is the same. Give Gaia money, they will give you items. I can't even count the number of times I did this to support Gaia, while gaining the new stuff to help with my status.

What Gaia only mentions once, which is when you are joining, is that they can ban you at any time without any reason. This means, no matter the amount of effort you place into getting stuff, the emotional attachment you may gain, or the amount of money you hand gaia, be it $5 or $5,000, they can remove it from you in an instant with out as much as a reason why.

Now I won't say "Gaia never gives reasons when they ban, " but when they banned me, it wasn't much of one. I lost over hundreds of dollars worth of my hard earned money and time. I felt this was extreme and unfair, and when I asked them to make amends, all I get is a simple one line reply basically saying "no".

When asked for them to do so little as just look into the issue, they refused. It was almost like that all the time that I had remained a loyal customer didn't mean much to them. They wouldn't even give me the benefit of the doubt for this. It would almost seem that in this case they spent little time figuring out what happened, and didn't do a very thorough job of investigating and finding evidence to do something so severe to a undeserving customer.

I recieved no warnings about what they were going to do to the account, even though they claim that there is a system to things of a progressive punishment system. The decision seemed a bit rushed just to settle things.

I am saddened by this. I would really like to see something done about this.
