We went in to get a website done by professionals. Silly us, we trusted what we thought was a legitimate Raleigh Web Design company and they screwed us over. We clearly laid out all the specifications of the site beforehand and they coudln't even follow this. Time was wasted on unnecessary back and forth on things that we were very clear from the beginning on. We decided to help them out and make things easier for them, since they were clearly having a difficult time meeting any of the deadlines, and to ensure a launch (that was already months behind schedule), we decided to cut some things out for a 'phased" launch—although still in the contract.
What we ended up with was a premature Phase I launch and once they launched the site and not even 50% of it done or fixed correctly, they called it quits. When we asked about Phase II, they wanted the rest of the money for the entire contract, even though nothing had been completed.
Once we realized that we weren't going to even complete the site or fix all the existing glitches—which they were solely responsible for—we wanted a guarantee they would fix everything. Even though the last payment wasn't even due let alone LATE, they high-jacked our domain name threatened to shut the site down, and we had to pay and hold up our end of the bargain although they hadn't even done HALF of their end.
Atlantic Business Technologies is guilty of the following:
Breaching contracts. Blaming clients. Not following easy specifications for projects. Blaming clients. Charging clients for meeting time to fix problems they (AtlanticBT) created (like rolling a website back to a jacked up development version or telling you we fixed something but didn't). Shady web design and web hosting packages. Threatening to shut off websites and hold domains for ransom. Telling clients that everything that was agreed to in the contract to be completed and was paid for is "out of scope".
