Two weeks after having our new emachines computer up and running, we started having problems maintaining a connection to our server, plus our connection speed was very slow. We called our server to be sure it wasn't them or us.
We then contacted emachines to figure out what the problem was and of course all they could focus on or hear, was that our connection speed was slow.
They told us to change this setting, check that setting, etc. We did this several times by phone, by email and by live chat all to no avail.
We finally sent them another email specifically telling them we could not maintain a connection and they finally conceded that yes, it was modem trouble and if we put up a $75.00 deposit on credit card (which we do not have) they would be glad to send us the new part.
Since we do not have a credit card, they wanted us to send in the tower for repair but then we would be out the use of our computer completely for appx. 3 weeks or more.
I think their warranty sucks since Dell, Compaq and most other computer companies will either send the part or a repairman without having to put up a deposit.
We feel they do have a good machine but they don't stand behind it. Why can't they just send the new part or send a repairman like everyone else does?
As it is, we went out and bought a new modem out of our pocket and replaced it when it should have been replaced on warranty. Now everything works like it's supposed to-no thanks to emachines.
