Jim Anderson, the owner of Zapped.info rented a room from me. We hired him to recover data that was deleted on my business partner's computer. This computer is a laptop that had been thrown in the garbage because the screen was broken.
After she brought the laptop to my house, Mr. Anderson asked me if she would want the computer back due to its broken screen. Apparently, he wanted it, because as he worked on it he listed himself as the "Registered Owner" and put his own password on it, refusing to tell her what the password is. To this day she still doesn't have it. He did the same thing to another laptop of mine that he "fixed."
When she asked him what it would cost to get a new screen on the computer, he lied, telling her "at least $400-600, so it wouldn't be worth it." She called a computer-savvy friend after that and found he could get her a refurbished replacement screen and install it for her for under $125!
She wanted the deleted files recovered to find information on what a former partner did to sabotage our business before he was fired. Mr. Anderson assured us he was fully capable of retrieving this lost data. He lied, because he knows nothing about computer forensics. It took him over 10 days to just get to the point where he said we would be able to "read the recovered data." To this day none of it is readable.in fact, we still don't know what he did because he refuses to tell us, and he refuses to provide an invoice.
We had to contact the FBI because of the crimes committed by the former partner, and when I asked Jim Anderson to tell me what he had done to the computer so the Computer Forensics Tech could see what he did and not attribute it to the ex-partner, or vice-versa, he flatly refused to tell us. He even warned me against bringing the FBI into it. We know he didn't do any of the work he said he did: however, he did illegally put his name as the registered owner on both computers and he installed spyware to get into our files.
While he was "working" on the computer, he became literally enraged at my partner because she wouldn't watch him work. He wanted her to pay attention to what he was doing, seemingly wanting her to be enraptured by his greatness and knowledge. He wanted her to help him and even asked her advice on what to do. Never mind the fact that she just learned to use email and has no knowledge or interest of computer repair. He became further enraged and insulted when she left the table where he was working to take a call from her little boy. He told me he could no longer work with her because she wouldn't pay attention to him; "she was even rude enough to accept a call from her son instead to telling the boy to call her back later because she was busy with someone more important."
In retaliation for her "rudeness, " he stole her start-up disks and new remote for her brand new Macbook. He sabotaged the first computer and another laptop as well.
He told me when he repairs customer's computers, he does something to their computers so he can spy on them and always be able to get into their files. He quickly commented he didn't do anything to my computers.
We have the authorities looking into what he did. After all this, he vandalized my house, threatened me with repercussions from legal action to death. He now owes me money, and we are hiring a real computer repairman to fix all the damage Jim Anderson of Zapped.info has done to our computers.
