I got an email from www.hollywoodprofiles.com about a simple listing for movie extras and listings. I am in the industry and I was looking for a way to list my resume and for a $1.95 I thought I had nothing to lose. I filled out info and credit card info and received an email stating
"We have received your new sign up. We are confident that you will find that we have amazing and legitimate opportunities available to people in your area all year long.
Please look for your membership kit materials in the next few days.
Your account is under process and will be created in the next 24-48 hours. Please check your inbox in the next 24-48 hours for your login and password. We look forward to working with you.
I never received anything else from this company. 10 days later I got another charge of $49.95 to my credit card. I still did not get anything from this company. I did some research and found that numerous people have signed up and then tried to cancel their "membership" and they won't cancel it and keep on charging their credit cards. I read that several people called and complained and they said that they would refund but the refunds never came and charges just kept on mounting. I have reported them to the FTC and I am dilligently trying to get my money back. On debt cards used as credit cards there is no real recourse because it is like cash. Your bank can not reverse the charges the company just has to give you back the money.
Www.hollywoodprofiles.com is a rip off and they need to be shut down for illegal activity. Charging credit cards without permission is fraud. I will have to cancel my debt card to keep them from charging further.
