890 Sold me an OLD, OUT-OF-DATE, notebook as new. Shoppers beware!

On 3/4/08 I went into this store and purchased what I assumed to be an unopened brand new Toshiba Satellite; so imagine my surprise when I got home and opened the box to something else. I immediately call the store and spoke with your store manager, Kevin, who profusely apologized and asked me to bring the box and all its contents back to the store with my original receipt in the morning when the store opened to exchange the notebook. I thanked him and advised that I could not come into the store until after work (around 6pm). He said that was fine he'd see me then. Fortunately, I had a few minutes before a funeral and decided to come to the store this morning.

I came into the store and initially, everything was going fine with the exchange; then, all of a sudden it became a problem with what was in the box. First one person, then another took hold of what I'd received in the box along with my receipt and disappeared. I overheard Sammy, another manager, on a headset implying that I was lying and asked if anyone knew how to get in touch with Kevin.

What should have been a quick exchange quickly transpired into a 30 minute fiasco. Everyone behind the counter asked me questions, but no one answered any of mine. When it became apparent that no one intended to resolve this issue, I asked for the notebook, box, and receipt as I had a funeral to attend. Keisha, the cashier, repeatedly asked for someone to bring the receipt and saying, "but that's not the customers fault." I told her I'd just dispute the charge with my bank but I had to leave. Finally, a dark-skinned black girl brought my receipt, I gathered my items and I left the store.

I sent an email to the General Manager, who asked me to call him at the store; when I called, he never came to the phone. I left several messages for him, but he never responded. I sent him another email and he said, "we did a count of all or laptops and we do not see any variances that would explain the laptop you have. At this time I'm not able to replace the laptop."

Since my purchase on the 4th, the store's laptop section has been in the news as it has been robbed twice, so I find it VERY peculiar that ALL of the laptops are accounted for.
