I worked for UBCOA (United Business Concepts of America) for 4 months. During this time, i sold ecommerce business packages to individuals.
The package that comes with the Ebc Venture plan is so called support, training, and what-not. This said the whole package is centered around the lease of a credit card machine for 4 years. When you add up what it is. It comes out to $2400 for a CC machine which is NOT needed by the people who sign up for the Ebc Venture plan.
Why am i here... Glad you asked! Over the time i worked for ubcoa, i sold 2 plans. This said i was never paid for the plans i sold. I just want other sales people to know this. I was told that payment was sent, and then the management blamed the USPS for non delivery. It simply amazes me that management would be so unscrupulous as to NOT pay it's contractors. (by the way. Pete (the management) kept saying "yes i sent the payment. The usps must have lost it".interesing. I send stuff for my currrent website via usps and have never had a payment lost.
Anyway, for the comsumer: Just to let you know. A Credit Card machine IS NOT NEEDED to run offline charges. All that is needed is a virtual transactor. Most merchant accounts can be setup with a virtual machine and the way you access it is via a web browser. This should only cost a few bucks extra at most, or free.
