I pay my credit card account online. Today is 1/27/08. The bill is due 1/28/08. I went on line today (1/27) to schedule my payment for tomorrow (1/28). They will not allow me to make the payment until 1/29, TWO days from now. So essentially, they are purposely delaying my payment an extra day so they can hit me with late fees.
I called to get help and all I got was an automated service which informed me they will allow me to pay today (the day before the bill is actually due) only if I pay an additional $15.00 "phone payment fee". Then I was disconnected.
Called a second time, got a foreigner who speaks broken English, who once again connected me back to the automated service, and I was disconnected again.
So basically, they are forcing me to pay late fees (with interest) on a bill that I am trying to pay on time.
Damage Resulting = Late fees are tacked onto your credit card which will continue to charge interest even though the payment wasn't late to
begin with.
