On April 29 I won an auction that Ms. Roberge had listed on E-bay. It was for a large ceramic panther - intended to be a birhtday gift for my husband. Before bidding on this item, I emailed Ms. Roberge and asked if she would double box the piece. She agreed. Because of that, I bid on the piece, won the auction.
At the end of the auction, I e-mailed her telling her I would be getting the money order for the amount of the auction, the shipping, and an additional $! 10 for USPS insurance.
When I received the statue (the day before my husband's birthday), I was horrified! She had placed this black panther ceramic piece wrapped in a thin terry cloth towel. She then put the piece in a very thin cardboard box (the kind the kid's toys come in). She placed only about 1/3 the amount of peanuts in the box than were needed. The piece was shattered in a lot of pieces. She had not double boxed the piece (I would not have bid if I had known she wouldn't do this), nor had she purchased insurance for the package as I had paid and instructed.
On May 17, after several e-mails back and forth, she agrred to refund me half the cost of the panther, plus the $1.10 for insurance that was not purchased. I agreed that would be acceptable. Today is Sept. 26 and still nothing! I have filed complaints with square trade, they have gone unanswered. I have also filed fraud reports with USPS that have also gone unanswered.
She promised a partial refund and hasn't lived up to her promise... Don't you think she should???
