I would write a long discription, but Alexander in New York did such a good job, I'll mostly defer to his report on this company. My experience may suggest that it is only partly incompetence. It is so similar to Alex's that it makes you wonder if this is some perverse business model they have with every screw up mapped out in a 3 ring binder for everyone to follow. How else could employees and management learn nothing from repeating the experience?
I found them thru a bid submission site and had a good talk with the rep. I failed to do any due dilligence because it came through the bid site. Dumb mistake. Once the check cleared the rep was gone till it was time for more money.
Unlike Alex's experience, my site took MONTHS and I wound up designing it almost exactly in Quark and submitting pdf's to follow. Even with this it took forever and even things that should have been cut and paste had errors created in them.
Same runaround, Paul will be with you every step of the way! Paul who? Oh, he's out sick, for the 10th week. Talk to Bob, the boss. Bob will get back to you, about how it is your fault the site is not done because you sent the email only 4 times. You are an idiot, but Bob will take pity and get your site done.
Most email instructions had to be submitted 5 times, verbatim, to begin to sink in. It was good cop/bad cop, but everyone felt free to swap roles at the drop of a hat. If this turned out to be a bunch of prisoners running a business from inside the big house I would not be surprised.
Alex is right, go nowhere near these guys!
