Liquidation.com
Fraud, Poor Customer Service, Lies

Normally, I wouldn't be writing, but I am at my wit's last end trying to deal with this company and recover my money from them since late-April. The company in question is Liquidation.com, a wholesale auctioner. Over a period of tthree weeks, I purchased four lots of goods through them, each of which ended up being nowhere near what their auction listings claimed they were. Two were for lots of laptops, another for a lot of iPods, and another for a mixed lot of LCD's and computers. Two lots were returned and I received refunds for, the other two I have fought tooth and nail, continually re-sending and faxing information, calling repeatedly and so on, until finally a week ago, I was told from their Disputes department that no return and refund would be forthcoming, because I "did not file the proper paperwork in accordance with their policies", which is completely untrue. The two lots in question would be for the mixed lot of LCD's/computers and one of the laptop lots.

In the case of the laptops, they wre listed as Pentium III 850MHz Gateway 5300 units, all in refurbished and working condition, supplied without AC adapters, and came with additional batteries. They also came with new replacement removable CD-ROM drives. When they arrived, I inspected the lot and began testing with an extra AC adapter I had lying around (I had already ordered and purchased ten AC adapters, but they were en-route). Immediately, I doscovered that two of the ten units did not power up. Additionally, the CD-ROM drives shipped with the lot were not compatible in the least. I filled out the proper paperwork, took pictures, and sent this information to Liquidation on 4/20, abiding b y their terms of return and dispute.

In the case of the mixed lot (having already had the poor experience with the three others), I immedaitely checked the manifest against what I received, and discovered that I was getting screwed. I was to receive a total of 19 LCD monitors, three desktop computers, and two home theater DVD recorders. I received the DVD recorders. One of the three computer systems did not arrive (although they were nice enough to send an acient 14" CRT monitor in its place), none of the 20' LCD's arrived, was shorted on the quantity of 19" LCD's I was to receive, and to some extent, some of the mising units were replaced with cheapie 15" LCD's, none of which
were on the original manifest. To ad insult to injury, the lot was listed as refurbished condition, when in actual fact, over 60% of he equipment was completely non-functional, while another 25% had some sort of defect, making their refurbished condition claim false. I received this lot of goods on May 2nd and sent out the coresponding paperwork and pictures for the dispute on 5/4. I then confirmed receipt of said paperwork on 5/7.

Since I have filed the necessary paperwork, I have been lied to, given the runaround, and finally told to shove off after hounding these people weeks on end. As I mentioned before, even the other two lots I purchased were fraudulent, one touting a lot of laptops in refurbished condition ranging from Pentium III's at 700MHz to 1.4GHz (only one machine would have even qualified in that statement), and a lot of iPods that didn't match their manifest or in the quality and quantity claimed.

I am beging for help and don't know where else to turn to. I spent over $4500 on these two lots alone (not including the purchase of the laptop AC adapters), and fel like I have ben robbed blind. If you or one of your colleagues handle these kinds of news bits as a "consumer isue" type thing, I would greatly appreciate it. Someone needs to expose these frauds for who they are.

I thank you in advance for any assistance you can give.
