I thought that this was a legitimate deal because it was being advertised in a banner on yahoo.com near my inbox. I signed up to get a $50 gift card to a restaurant of my choice. The offer claimed that all I would have to do is sign up for one offer.
I decided to sign up for a Chase Bank student credit card. I received no confirmation or anything that the offer was completed and that my gift card would be sent. I went back to the homepage and selected "My Gift Status" to try and get details on the transaction. I was prompted to sign up for a password in order to access these details. I entered my email address and receive a message saying, "Thank you! An email with instructions for setting up a new password is on its way." Guess what? Never got a password. This was a week ago. I tried 3 more times to try and get a password. I even check my bulk mail box. Nothing.
But here's the kicker: A few days ago get a call from Chase Bank to verify info in order to process my cc app. So that means the deal went through but ironically enough my gift card offer didn't. I think that this company is just teaming up with vendors in order to get more business. I think the gift card offer is a sham.
