I was looking on the internet for a free software download. There are many, so it did not seem unusual to me. I was asked to enter a bunch of questions (survey). Then I got to a page where it said that you had to buy something on that page so I bought a 1.99 ebay starter kit (which I never received). Then low and behold my credit card is getting charged monthly $49.95 and $59.95 to total $110. They told me I had 14 days in the beginning to cancel.
Here is the kicker. I did not know I had bought anything or had anything to cancel. I never received anything! The $49.95 is a service to help you promote items on ebay and the $59.95 is for a coaching service. Don't you think a coach would at least contact me? No emails or phone calls or anything. I did not want the product anyway, but I did not know I even had it. The kicker is I never even finished the survey because there were so many questions.
When I contacted the company I can only talk to a front line customer service rep. They will not even put a supervisor on the phone (I tried 2x) to fix the problem!
I am a savvy internet user, and if this happened to me it has had to happen to many other unsuspecting people.
