If anyone lives near Orange County California, there is a Small Business Investor meeting taking place April 14. This would be a great tme to get a quote from the President of Commerce Planet regarding these dishonest practices and how he plans on redeeming the company's bad reputation in business.
Dishonest sales online. $39.95 to $49.95 automatic billing to your credit card with a $1.95 ebay sales brochure offer that gives them the right to rebill without you knowing it!
1. The only way I found out, 7 months later is because this company just started to give me an email notification of a re-curring credit card charge from OnlineSupplier.com for $39.00.
2. I called the phone number on the email to cancel and the agent's dbase on me showed that they sent me the 1.95 brochure in August and started my monthly billing since September through today April.
3. The agent asked me if I would like to NOW get a login and password to try out the 14 day trial offer that I have been getting billed for!
4. I contacted my bank/dispute department at Wells Fargo and they have contacted the merchant account of Commerce Planet for a full refund of $439.45.
5. I contacted the consumer protection agency mentioned in one of the usacomplaints. Coms: 801.530.6601 which happened to be in my state. There is an agency for your state that you can go to for advise, also.
He looked up Commerce Planet, aka Consumer Loyalty Group, onlinesupplier.com, etc. The BBB of Santa Barbara had 415 complaints with 200ea. 100% refunds granted by Commerce Planet of Goleta, CA. (cpne. Ob). 150 complaints only got half their money back and 5 complaints got zero because the company is sticking to the clause that implies the consumer is responsible for the problem we are having.
6. I next contacted the customer service manager at Commerce Planet: Jose Gaurdiola, ph. 805.964.9126 ext. 3138. He was very sympathetic of the fact that I have been billed for a service that I haven't even checked out.
He is resending the $1.95 brochure about ebay free of charge and assured me that there would be no automatic billing to my account because they never auto-bill on a re-ship of the mailer. Ouch! He also said that my dbase information about me indicates that the agent I spoke to did credit me for two months (this one and last month), as a courtesy already...
Jose also asked me to wait 2 weeks before re-contacting him to see if their bank may refund the money directly to my bank before he does anything further, since their bank will bill him $25.00 fees for the credit refund transactions which JG is ok with...
I suggested to JG that the email notification would have been nicer to receive 7 months ago to avoid what appears to be out and out fraud and dishonest business practices. He says he totally agrees with the implementation of the email notification and apologized for the inconvenience.
I told him that I was going to also file a complaint with www.santabarbara. BBB.org / and ic3. Gov under Commerce Planet per the recommendation of the Utah Consumer Protection Agency that says the automatic billing process is illegal in this state.
7. Further research I found brought me to the conclusion that Commerce Planet may be trying to clean up their act/practices because of all the bad rap they are getting from ebay_blog, usacomplaints.com and an "F" rating by the local BBB in Santa Barbara, of which they are obviously not a member of.
Their stock since 2005 has gone up from $ 0.15 / share to a current $2.00 / share.
