Too cheap to pay taxes on truck he sold me ripoff

I bought a box truck on ebay, the description said clear title, that was a joke. When I tried to run the title thru my DMV they told me that Robert was trying to jump titles which is against the law. Obviously he didn't want to pay the taxes to get it titled in his name. The registration for title has his name wrote on it. He assured us that he had taken care of everything.

He bought the truck to move his furniture from Pa. To Fl. He used the one way permit that he got from the used car lot to take the truck back to Pa., he drove it to Florida on that permit and when we flew down to pick up the truck it still had the one way permit on it. I paid him $2748 for the agreed price but when I got down there he had put the truck in the shop to get an oil leak fixed and I had to pay $250 of the bill. I had not agreed to this when I purchased the truck. So I thought well he is trying to be fair since I was driving it 1,000 miles home. That was the fartherest from the truth.

We nursed it all the way home stopping every few hours to give it oil, power steering fluid, and several other additives. This was supposed to be a good truck because I needed it to use in my job. So far I have lost thousands of dollars in income, I have to pay insurance on it just incase someone would get hurt on it while it continues to sit in my yard.

I have spent over $5,000 on this truck and my travel expenses just to find out that unless I sue him I may never get the title.

I really don't know how many laws were broken from the time we bought the truck on ebay, but I do know that he took the truck across several state lines without license or a sticker. He lied about the condition of the truck on the internet, and he he won't answer our telephone calls any more. We sent the title back to him the first time and he kept it for 6 weeks and mailed it right back to us without doing anything with it.

The second time I sent it back to him by Fedex requiring a signature, he wouldn't pick it up. The Florida DMV called him and told him he had 10 days from the time he received it to get it processed and back to me. My DMV called him multiple times and he also assured them he would pick it up-he lied to them too. I had to pay Fedex to return it back to me.

If I am going to get a title for it I will have to sue him in Florida courts. We have started a list of complaints to use in the lawsuit, internet fraud, selling a vehicle that he did not have clear title to, stating that he had a clear title over the internet when he didn't have one.

At first we only wanted the title fixed, it has been since September and now we want him to compensate us for the lost potential income that I would have made if I could use it. We bought another motor for it $400 and it is sitting in the back of the truck because we won't put it in until the truck belongs to us.

We want reimbursed for all of the expenses we incurred flying to Florida to pick up the truck and drive it back home. We had to spend 2 nights in motels and pay for meals. Right now we have over $5,000 in the truck, add the thousands of dollars in lost income and the fact that we ended up buying another box truck to use in my work. Kick in all the stress this has caused and it doesn't seem to stop.

Eight months is enough time for him to take care of this business. I will probably have to fly back to Florida to sue him and I certainly will include all of my expenses in the final total that I want him to pay.

All of this over less than $200 in taxes.
