I purchase a cpu from Tiger Direct that had a rebate attached to it for $50. The orginal sale price was 69.99. I filled out the rebate form and sent it in with a copy of the reciept and upc. I mailed it the last week of Dec. 06.
In Feb. I recieved a postcard stating the order was not a valid Tiger Direct Order number. On Feb 26 I called and spoke with a rep with who said the number that I had given them was correct and she would send a message to have a supervisor review it so they could go ahead a process my rebate. She also told me to call back in two weeks.
I called back a week later and the information had still not been corrected so i waited another week. The next rep I spoke with provided me with no additional information so I requested a supervisor.
I was then transfer to Juliana who informed they were behind in proceesing and that the error would be fixed and my check would be sent out on Monday 03-26-07. When I called back the wednesday following I was again advised that the error was still not corrected an no check was sent out. So again I asked to speak with a supervisor.
This time my call was answer by a rep named Lisa, a manager located in minnesota id #117. She was unhelpful and discourteous. She could not provide me with any further information and when I asked for a number for the corporate office to file a complaint she said she didn't have it. So I asked for an address and she told me to go online and look for it.
At that point in time I asked to speak to her supervisor and I was directed back to Juliana, who apparently is also in Minnesota, but was not available. And would call me back in 24-48 hours. No one every calls back. That was 2nd time I was told that and no one has called me yet.
After I made a report with the BBB. The information on the rebate website was conviently updated to say my rebate was invaild because my item had been returned. (note: my orig. Cpu I was sold was defective and had to be exchanged but I submitted a copy of both reciepts) Through te BBB Tiger Direct directed me to the rebate company but would not give me a name or corporate number so I found the post card they sent me and searched for the address on the BBB website. I found the company Helgeson Enterprises, Inc.
4461 White Bear Pkwy Saint Paul, MN 55110-7626
Telephone: (651) 762-9700 Fax: (651) 762-9701 www.helgesonent.com toll-free #1-866-762-9701 office hrs 8am-5pm cst.
I called them and asked to speak with the person in charge of rebate complaints. I left my name and number and someone named Sherri called me back within 15 minutes. After faxing her a copy of my receipt and explaining the whole ordeal again. She asked for the order number for the cpu I exchanged and said that this was order number the "system processed."
The funny thing about that is that the rebate promotion was a bundle with item on the order number I submitted but they claimed was invalid. So according to her I will recieve my check in a month or so. I guess I'll wait and see.
I would advised anyone with mailed rebate claim problem to contact Helegeson Enterprises directly and tell them you were referred BBB. The other customer service reps will get you no where.
