Intuit - Tax Software ripoff 100% increase in PPR price due to "new" License fee 100 S/H fee

A Small preparer of taxes here located in Middle Atlantic states.intuit Proseries has been my software ever since it bought Chipsoft, for past 15 years. But now since they have bought La Certe they are UP charging us for Tax software. It used to be we had to pay $50 for shipping and Handling when they used UPS 3 years ago. Now they want $100 for shipping & handling & they use (3) shipments of USPS priority mail which costs them only $12.75. They pocket 87.25 on this fee even when most of us "download the software over the Internet".

They don't offer a download your updates over the internet price either. Looks like they are trying to force smaller preparers out of business. If you don't e-file they don't want your business.

Plus they want a newly instituted " license fee" for use only on 1 computer of $100. What kind of chicanary is this??? 100% price increase in 1 year???

Most preparers just buy it & pass the costs off to their clients, but I have a real hard time trying to justify a 33% increase in software costs over the last 3 years yet the Cost of Living Index is only 3%!!! GREED, PURE GREED.

The current admnistration let Microsoft off the hook & this is what came from it. Other companies trying to act like Microsoft, this is one of them. They have bought out at least 10 Major software companies in Tax since I have been in business. Now they have such a large base of clients they feel that they can just stick fees anywhere and anytime with no consequences to the bottom line. Here is where I get off.

I am not buying it anymore. Quickbooks now costs my clients $400 per year if they want Payroll if they don't want payroll Intuit will disable the functions and services in the program after 3 years. I will not recommend their products anymore. Despite them being interactive, the UP charges are NOT substantiated.

They now are trying to make people subscribe to software yearly just like Microsoft and Symantec are tring to do in Anti Virus Software. Soon they will tell them they have to invest quarterly. Think I will invest in a MAC this year, I already dropped Live 1 care & got ESET NOD32 for my AV software. Time to check out TAXACT or some other software.intuit has upped its prices too far, too fast and when the dust settles they may have lost most of their client base.
