Beware of spam and misleading marketing campaigns.
I filled out an online questionnaire and paid $1.95 shipping for a "free book" on selling tips for eBay. I was not really interested in the book, but it was part of a marketing scam which supposedly included a free XBox 360 game for my kids.in order to receive your "free gift" ($50 value for Viva Pinata which is a good kids game for the XBox 360 that we don't own) I had to fill out at least one survey and "take advantage of at least one of our sponsors offers" (or something similar). I swear, as a rule I never follow spam links. I don't know how I let myself get sucked into this one. I guess it was because of the "free" game I know my kids would enjoy.
Regardless, my story is similar to the 37 others on usacomplaints.com so far for onlinesupplier.com: a few weeks later, there is now a charge on my debit card for $49.95 from "8009309932 ONLINE SUPPL" which I did not authorize. I've read in others' complaints that there was some trial membership verbiage in the fine print. Either way, I will be calling my bank tomorrow (since today is Sunday) to complain and see what can be done.
