Ameritrain did not fulfill its promises to myself or others that spent a LOT of money to attend their facility. Hands on was a joke. I attained my A ceritfication on my own with very little help from Ameritrain. The instructor I had did a poor job of training my class and did not use the time alloted properly.
I never even loaded a single operating system in my boot camp. Don't A folks need to know that? Boot Camp? What a joke! It is simply a means to get your money quicker. The MCSE boot camp was even worse, to the point that the instructor refused to work another example of a problem. I suppose my request interfered with his smoke break! I also did not get to rephase my classes as I was promised. Legal action will be instigated!!! Then they closed shop without notifying anyone.
I was there Monday 7-16-02 studying and nothing was said about moving. A representative from Sallie Mae was told that Ameritrain would talk to him on Thursday morning. I left 2 messages with Sallie Mae financial and did not receive a return call. I say, if Ameritrain cannot follow through, don't pay your tuiton!!!
Folks, do not pay a dime to ANY IT training center. If you have the desire and willingness to put in the study time, use the resources on the Internet, and have the aptitude, you can learn every thing we learned and SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! There is plenty of material in bookstores, on the web, and through friends or intern programs to help you to succeed without companies such as Ameritrain to lighten your pocketbook.
