Dec 24th I signed up for Vonage and decided to take advantage of the Microcenter $200 in-store instant rebate. It was very much a manual process in which I had to type everything into a computer that they had setup for just this purpose. After doing so, I took my items to the cash register and paid for the balance of the items that exceeded the $200.00.
The Vonage service worked well however lacked ACR (Anonymous Call Rejection). This is used to keep telemarketers away. On 1/2, after speaking to the Vonage rep, who was very polite, I decided before I cancel my service that I call Microcenter to ensure that the sales slip I had for the purchase was indeed true with respect to the return policy (30 days from date of purchase). After finally reaching a live person, I was put on hold for over 20 minutes and then promptly hung up on. I called back and spoke to the very same person. She proceeded to tell me that the agreement was between myself and Vonage. "Call them". I explained to her that I had and that they told me I had 30 days to cancel for a full refund. She said "I am being told by my service desk that you need to call them"."The agreement is between you and them". I asked what if I wanted to return the items I purchased on this agreement. She said "We'll take your stuff back" (Very snotty). I asked about how I would be receiving my funds for those items she again said "Sir, that is between you and Vonage". She was very rude and short. I have no tolerance for this.
If you are in Customer Service you should have at least a modecum of professionalism and politeness about you.
I have shopped a Microcenter for over 6 years and pretty much always have had a good experience. That ended today!
To Microcenter Sharonville's Manager, I hope the $200.00 you made from this sale was worth it! It IS the last business your company will ever get from me... Maybe you should screen your employees calls.
To everyone else: If you are going to do business with Microcenter, please be warned that the Vonage Instant Rebate is a very shady deal at best. Buyer Beware!
