On November 1st, my lovely wife was compelled to inform me of an unusual charge that kept showing up on our debit card statement. After a bit of investigating I found that for the past 3 months I had been charged $29.95 for something called "Grant Writter Pro". Having no recolection of this, I Called the company and explained my situation in great detail to the Customer service representative.
As I am sure, by now, all who are reading this know the very rehearsed and somewhat automated response that the rep must blurt out all day, or all night (as the person you are speaking to is in India) that tells of the free 14 day trial then if you don't cancel blah. Blah. Blah.
Bottom line is they found an easy scam but that's not the scary part. The real scary part is that they are not just charging you for the one application (on a monthly basis) but three seperate ones with seperate names!!! If you read thid look on your statement for "Network agenda" and foR "Small Busisness Administration (SBA)" theses are two other charges that they get you for claiming when you orderd the "Grant writter pro " you also agreed for these other services.
I stumbled upon this as I looked further into more unexplained charges on my card. I noticed that the person who answerd the phone for "Network agenda" sounded just like the person who I had just spoken to with "Grant Writer Pro" and BEHOLD the cacelation code was exactly the same number as the other was!
After The rep knew it was me again, she let me in on the third company, they were calling it "SBA" "small busines administration. The charges were $7.95 per month for "Network agenda" and $11.00 per month for "SBA".
Thanks to the decent person the rep was, I was able to get all three to stop charging my card, but no refund in sight.
